ABOUT ME

With over 15 years of experience working as a classroom teacher in Early Years Foundation Stage and Key Stage One, I am dedicated to supporting children with their literacy skills to help them become confident readers and writers. Four years ago, I chose to specialise in supporting children with dyslexia and those who are struggling to successfully acquire literacy skills within a classroom setting who do not have a confirmed diagnosis. My passion lies in creating a nurturing environment that encourages growth and confidence. I am an enthusiastic, patient teacher who recognises the unique needs and strengths of each child. If you would like to know more about my approach, please contact me. I am happy to speak with you by phone or meet with you in person at my home to discuss your child's needs.

BUILDING CONFIDENCE

MY APPROACH TO TUITION

Tailored Supportive Lessons.

Individualised Tuition

A Personalised Learning Programme.

I plan and deliver an individual learning programme that is tailored to your child's unique needs. My lessons are personalised, structured and sequential to ensure previous knowledge is consolidated and interwoven into new learning. I follow a structured phonics scheme that has a strong emphasis on overlearning to support progress and develop confidence. Within this framework, my students also explore the building blocks of words through morphology and structured word inquiry.

A multi-sensory approach.

Fun, Interactive Lessons.

My lessons are interactive with a strong focus on learning through discovery and games. I use a range of resources, most of which are created by myself to ensure each lesson is planned to meet your child's individual needs. Activities are planned to support your child's working memory.

A warm, welcoming teaching space.

 My Learning Environment.

I teach my lessons on a 1:1 basis in a dedicated teaching space in my garden room at home, ensuring a calm and focussed learning atmosphere. My students are given the opportunity to reflect on their learning experience, discuss their strengths and share the ways in which they like to learn.
